Steps to Create a Distance-based Rental Product ( Rental Type: Taxi )

Go to: Product >> Ad New Product

1: Add General Information

  • Add Title & Short Description / Description

  • Add Product Image, Product Gallery, Product Categories, Product Tags, Brands

2: Set Distance - Based Rental Type

Day-based rental price and hour-based rental price are applied in an order

Step 1: Enable Rental Type: Taxi

  • Firstly, go to: Product Data Dropdown, choose: "Rental" Value

  • Then, go to: Rental Type Dropdown, choose: "Taxi" Value

Step 2: Set distance-based rental price

  • Firstly, configure price per kilometer

  • Then, set base price ( Minimum Rental Fee for each booking )

3: Set Insurance Amount

Set maximum number of seats for a taxi

6: Setup Map

Available Settings:

  • Pricing Plan: Choose between pricing per kilometer or per mile.

  • Waypoints: Set a maximum number of waypoints allowed.

  • Map Zoom: Enable and define the map’s zoom level.

  • Types: Select from three options – Geocode, Address, or Establishment.

  • Bounds: Specify the longitude, latitude, and radius to define the operational area.

  • Restrictions: Limit the service to specific countries where the taxi operates.

7: Set Extra Time & Waiting Time Rate

The feature allows you to set waiting time rate. It is The fee charged per unit of time (usually per minute) when the taxi is not moving or moving very slowly, such as during traffic congestion or while waiting for a passenger.

8: Set Discount Price

8.1: Add Distance-based Discount

This feature allows you to offer discounts based on the total distance of a booking

8.2: Special Time

This feature allows you to set prices for unlimited special time periods (such as holidays, peak seasons, etc.). After configuring a date-range pricing plan, you can also offer distance-based pricing during those periods.

Example: A customer books a taxi in 01-08-2025. If the distance between the pick-up and drop-off locations is 30 km, the rate is $4 per km. However, if the distance is 51 km, the customer only pays $3 per km.
